Correspondent photo by Qu Rui The planned area of the Alashankou Border People's Mutual Market Trade Zone is 188,500 square meters, with a total investment of 200 million yuan, and the first phase of acceptance is 33,000 square meters. The trade is divided into primary and secondary trading markets. The primary trading market is divided into the customs supervision area and the transaction declaration hall. The main functions of the secondary trading market are commodity exhibition and sales, consolidation and transportation, and trade negotiations. After the acceptance is passed, Alashankou Customs will work with the local government to promote the system commissioning and import the first shipment of goods to test orders, laying the foundation for normal operation. At present, the Alashankou Border People's Mutual Market Trade Zone is applying for the pilot qualification for landing processing. After being approved, the trade zone will cover three major modes: on-the-ground processing, intra-regional trading, and original extraction and removal, which can further enrich the trade format of the border residents' mutual market. At that time, border residents and border cooperatives (mutual aid groups) can independently choose the import mode that suits them, which can not only effectively prevent tax evasion and smuggling by using the identity of border residents, but also maximize the benefits of national policies. Zhang Jie, chief of the fourth section of Alashankou Customs Supervision, said that Alashankou Customs is actively assisting local governments in expanding the types and channels of imported goods from neighboring countries, and deepening the reform of "land processing" of imported goods in the mutual market of border residents.
