India strongly opposes! my country already has the Three Gorges Dam, why do we have to develop the Brahmaputra?
The Brahmaputra is about to build a hydropower station, and the Indians can't sit still! As a plateau river, the Brahmaputra has a huge terrain drop, especially in summer, because the melting of snow and water in the mountains has a roaring trend. The Brahmaputra are all energy and electricity! If it can be used to generate electricity, then its power generation scale may be no less than that of the Three Gorges. But the Indians quit. They think that China already has the Three Gorges, so why should they develop the Brahmaputra? The Brahmaputra and the mountains behind it River of the Plateau
The Brahmaputra is the highest river in the world, flowing on the plateau and between the snow-capped mountains. It originates from the glaciers in the northern part of the Himalayas, and then flows from west to east, suddenly turning a nearly 90-degree bend between Nyingchi and Medog, and then all the way south into India and Bangladesh. At that turn, the erosion of the river created the largest canyon in the world, known as the last blank canyon in the world. It is the Brahmaputra Grand Canyon. Because the terrain is too steep and the altitude is too high, there is hardly any geological investigation work. The Yarlung Zangbo River in the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is so special because of its special location that it is difficult to form a shock plain in my country, but its watershed is still the main planting area of highland barley. After flowing out of our country's borders, the terrain has slowed down and the altitude has decreased, and it has also had a new name, the Brahmaputra River. Every summer, it travels to India and Bangladesh with a large amount of water, and the residents on both sides of it grow tea. The color of the river water is blue-green from the sky, like a jade belt embedded in the plateau, running through the southern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The Yarlung Zangbo River, which is like the jade belt, is only 2057 meters long, but it cannot be compared with most rivers in length, but its water flow should not be underestimated. The water flow of this plateau river is second only to the Yangtze River. Not only that, in the middle and lower reaches of the river, the precipitation is very high, between 1000 and 4000 mm, and some places can even get 5000 mm of annual precipitation. In this way, the roaring sound of the river can be heard in the canyons of the Brahmaputra. The abundant water volume of the canyon is only one of the advantages of the Brahmaputra. It also has another advantage that no river in the world can match, that is, the terrain drop. After the Yarlung Zangbo River turns, all the way to the south, the altitude difference spans 5,475 meters. Such a huge height difference converts the dynamic potential energy of the river into kinetic energy. If the hydropower of the Brahmaputra can be exploited, my country's hydroelectric power generation will be further improved. Only at this time, downstream India quit! Downstream Brahmaputra RiverDifficult Development Road
India is very opposed to my country's development of the Brahmaputra River. They believe that my country already has the Three Gorges Hydropower Station. Why? Want to develop the Brahmaputra? In fact, this is very understandable. After the construction of hydropower stations, the downstream water flow can be controlled. India's agriculture is still in a very primitive stage, and they rely entirely on the nutrients sent by the river for planting. The Brahmaputra River is an important tea producing area in India, and if the flow of water decreases, their tea will face unprecedented difficulties. In addition, India has done a lot of unfortunate things in recent years. They "save others by themselves", thinking that we will contain them with hydropower stations. In fact, the cultivation of tea in India is not just the Brahmaputra River. The source of many rivers in India is in my country, including the Ganges River, which is regarded as the "holy river" by them. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is known as the "Asian Water Tower". Many rivers in South Asia, East Asia, and Southeast Asia originate here, but my country occupies the majority of the East Asian side, so many rivers belong to my country throughout the journey. While there are more countries in South Asia and Southeast Asia, these rivers also flow through many countries, and our country only has the upper reaches of these rivers. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the water tower of Asia, my country rarely develops such transnational rivers, because there are many rivers available for development in my country. Second, the interests involved in the development of transnational rivers are not one country, but multiple countries. There are often disputes, and the speed of development is slower. my country already has very mature experience in water conservancy projects. We all dare to build railways, and it is not difficult to build a power station. If the Brahmaputra Hydropower Station is completed, its scale is likely to surpass the Three Gorges and become the new largest power station in the world. The reason why the Yarlung Zangbo Hydropower Station may surpass the Three Gorges is because they know that the water storage capacity of the Three Gorges Reservoir exceeds 30 billion cubic meters, and they are afraid that once my country closes the gate, there will be no water downstream. However, in fact, they may not even know that since the construction of the Three Gorges Dam, there has actually been more water in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It turned out that the annual cargo capacity of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River was only 10 million tons. With the help of the Three Gorges, it exceeded 30 million tons. The reason is that the amount of water in the lower reaches has increased, which can accommodate freighters with deeper drafts. With the Three Gorges Dam, the shipping of the Yangtze River takes off directly because the hydropower station not only generates electricity, but also regulates the amount of water. As mentioned earlier, the Brahmaputra River has been flooded due to the melting of snow in summer, causing a large increase in water volume. India and Bangladesh are often hit by floods. With the hydropower station on the Brahmaputra, the water will be distributed evenly, and it will no longer be rushed in the summer. Any river will have a dry season, and the Brahmaputra is no exception. During the dry season, it even faces the danger of running out of water. After the dams are adjusted, there will be neither more nor less water in India and Bangladesh. Floods in India Not the Brahmaputra
Why should the Brahmaputra be developed after the Three Gorges? The development of the Brahmaputra is actually to lighten some burdens for the Three Gorges. The distribution of natural resources in my country is extremely uneven, with more from the west and less from the east, so there is gas from the west to the east. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is rich in geothermal energy, hydro energy, solar energy, wind energy, etc. If it can be put into use, it will alleviate the situation that my country relies heavily on thermal power generation. Before the Three Gorges Dam was put into use, thermal power generation accounted for more than 90% of the proportion. After the hydropower generation was put into use, it decreased year by year. By 2022, the proportion of thermal power generation in my country fell below 65%. my country's thermal power generation has been decreasing year by year, which means that the amount of coal put into power generation in my country has been reduced, and the environmental pollution problem has been significantly improved, making a huge contribution to the world's low carbon. In addition, the hydropower station on the Brahmaputra is a precursor. Only after it is built will my country begin to introduce water from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau into the hinterland of Xinjiang. We all know that the northwest region is notoriously arid place in our country, because it is far away from the ocean, and the humid monsoon cannot blow in at all. This also makes the hinterland of Xinjiang have many deserts, such as my country's largest Taklimakan Desert, and the desolate Lop Nur. The drought in the Taklimakan Desert in Xinjiang has also become a shackle that restricts the development of many areas in northwest my country. If my country wants to control desertification, it also needs a lot of water. This project, also known as the plateau version of the South-to-North Water Diversion, is as difficult as building the Qinghai-Tibet Railway back then. So, will my country stop developing the Brahmaputra because of India's obstruction? Of course it is impossible. First of all, the Brahmaputra is in our country, and our country has the right to use it. The construction of the hydropower station is a reasonable project, and other countries cannot interfere. Second, my country's vigorous efforts to control desertification. As mentioned earlier, the Three Gorges Dam did not dry up the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, but instead allowed more water in the lower reaches, because the annual precipitation was evenly distributed. This hydropower station will actually benefit India and Bangladesh, and will be of greater help to the agriculture along their coasts. Unfortunately, under the instigation of people with ulterior motives, India is opposed to the Brahmaputra Hydropower Station. However, their opposition is ineffective, no one can interfere with our country's domestic water conservancy projects, and India can only make a fuss and complain. The water flow of the Brahmaputra is huge. According to the plan, the annual output of the Brahmaputra Hydropower Station is 70 million kilowatt-hours. In 2035, the national electricity consumption will reach 12.4 trillion kilowatt-hours. Under such a large demand, my country also plans to close some thermal power plants. It can be said that the construction of the Brahmaputra Hydropower Station is imminent and urgent. Obviously, this move by our country is for the world's low-carbon cause, and it will not be stuck in India's "water neck" because of some things. It can only be said that the third brother has done too many wicked things in recent years. Everyone feels that others are coming to embarrass him. He can also build a dam on the Ganges himself, and no one stops him. Why did India's hydropower station collapse? They don't have large dams themselves, and they can only accept their fate to be submerged by floods every year. Don't they like building dams?
